We didn't build a bank. We built a promise.
For 55+ years, The Hindusthan Co-op. Bank Ltd. has stood for one idea — that every person, regardless of how much they earn or where they come from, deserves a financial institution that genuinely works for them.
Born from a movement. Not a market opportunity.
It was 1970. India was barely two decades old as a free nation, and Mumbai's Mathadi workers — the men and women who carried, loaded, and built this city with their bare hands — were fighting for something they had long been denied: dignity.
Their movement wasn't just about wages. It was about the right to be seen. To be counted. To have institutions that recognised their worth beyond the labour they provided.
The Hindusthan Co-operative Bank was born from that spirit
